HEAVEN’S STAIRS IN TIAN MEN SHAN, CHINA

Tian Men Shan is located in Hunan province, the road is 10km from top to bottom. The highest point is 1300m above sea level, and the lowest point is 200m, the road took eight years to finish with work starting in 1998, and finishing in 2006. The scenery looks beautiful, but take your eyes off the road for a second, and you’re on the fast way down to the bottom. The roads are scary with many twists & turns & certainly not for the faint-hearted.

The Alvord Desert is a desert located in Harney County, in southeastern Oregon in the western United States. It is roughly southeast of Steens Mountain. The Alvord Desert is a 12-by-7-mile (19 by 11 km) dry lake bed and averages 7 inches (180 mm) of rain a year. Two mountain ranges separate it from the Pacific Ocean—the Coast Range, and the Cascade Mountains. Along with Steens Mountain, these topographical features create a rain shadow. The Alvord lies at an elevation of approximately 4,000 feet (1,200 m).

The Palm Islands

The Palm Islands are two artificial islands, Palm Jumeirah and Palm Jebel Ali, on the coast of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As at November 2014, only Palm Jumeirah has been completed. This island takes the form of a palm tree, topped by a crescent. When complete, Palm Jebel Ali will take a similar shape; both islands will be host to a large number of residential, leisure and entertainment centres and will add a total of 520 kilometres of non-public beaches to the city of Dubai.

Painted Hills

It is a beautiful place that is located in the Wheeler country in the United States state of Oregon. Its total area is approximately 3,132 acres and it lies 21 kilometers east of Bend and 14 kilometers northwest of Mitchell. It is named after its beautiful and vibrant hills and these different colored bands show the slow growth of hills for more than million years. The beautiful vibrant stratifications in the soil and the golden, yellows, reds and blacks of the painted hills are best viewed in the late afternoon.

Panjin Red Beach, China

The Red Beach is located in the Liaohe River Delta, about 30 kilometer southwest of Panjin City in China. The beach gets its name from its appearance, which is caused by a type of sea weed that flourishes in the saline-alkali soil. The weed that start growing during April or May remains green during the summer. In autumn, this weed turns flaming red, and the beach looks as if it was covered by an infinite red carpet that creates a rare red sea landscape. Most of the Red Beach is a nature reserve and closed to the public. Only a small, remote, section is open for tourists.

Hvítserkur Rock

                                                     Hvítserkur is a 15 m high basalt stack along the eastern shore of the Vatnsnespeninsula, in northwest Iceland.

The rock has two holes at the base, which give it the appearance of a dragon who is drinking. The base of the stack has been reinforced with concrete to protect its foundations from the sea.

Several species of birds, such as gulls and fulmars, live on at Hvítserkur and its name ("white shirt" in Icelandic) comes from the color of the guano deposited on its rocks.

Glass Beach (Fort Bragg, California)

Glass Beach is a beach in Mac Kerricher State Park near Fort Bragg, California that is abundant in sea glass created from years of dumping garbage into an area of coastline near the northern part of the town.

In the early 20th century, Fort Bragg residents threw their household garbage over cliffs owned by the Union Lumber Company onto what is now Glass Beach, discarding glass, appliances, and even vehicles. Locals referred to it as "The Dumps." Fires were lit to reduce the size of the trash pile.

Mohenjo-daro (Sindhi:  IPA: lit. Mound of the Dead; English pronunciation:  is an archeological site in the province of Sindh, Pakistan. Built around 2600 BCE, it was one of the largest settlements of the ancient Indus Valley Civilization, and one of the world's earliest major urban settlements, contemporaneous with the civilizations of ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, and Crete. Mohenjo-daro was abandoned in the 19th century BCE, and was not rediscovered until 1922. Significant excavation has since been conducted at the site of the city, which was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1980. The site is currently threatened by erosion and improper restoration.....
